Can we stop screwing?

Greg Verdino wrote an article today named “Will we finally stop screwing around with social in 2010?“. In his article, you can find a free interesting ebook (exactly a collection of predictions about marketing, social media…). Greg had one prediction there : “In 2010, marketers will (have to) stop just messing around and actually get serious about social media.

I totally agree with Greg’s point :”welcome to 2010: the year social media gets down to business“. One visible example : Pepsi is going to skip Super Bowl Ads  in Favor of $20M Social Media Campaign. (F.Y.I : Super Bowl Ads likes the Golden Hours Ads in VTV or other Vietnamese TV channels). But I don’t agree with Greg. I strongly believe we are still screwing. Let’s see Seth Godin. He wrote many interesting books. If you pick a book of Seth, you can easily recognize that he always try to negate his earlier books. We talked about marketing a long time and year after year, we still talk about it. And not only Seth but sex. We do it everyday (or at least twice a week, a month…) but we still read any article appeared in Internet and complain of our performance. Why? Because basically, we human are screwer.

We can’t stop complain. We can’t stop screw. But we can make social media maturer. Maturer means sexier.
